Pastor Doug Mulkey became the Senior Pastor of Mt. Zion in 1989.  Doug and his wife Terry have raised 3 children in the Hickory Flat community.  He received his Mdiv. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Doug strives to preach and teach with an uncompromising commitment to God's Word and demonstrates a devoted love to the local church and community.  Contact Doug

Veldon has been on the pastoral staff at Mt Zion since 2005. He earned his M.A. in Worship from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He and his wife Tara, have 5 children (Hayden, Allison, Katie, Max, and Isaac).  Veldon leads both the traditional and modern worship services.  It is his desire to use the gifts and abilities within Mt. Zion to provide worshipers an opportunity to exalt and magnify God through music.  Contact Veldon

Jason has been on the pastoral staff at Mt. Zion since 2003. He leads the teaching ministries of Mt. Zion and assists the pastor and staff in implementing the vision and goals for the church.  He received is Mdiv. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife Kam, have 4 children (Kennedy, Sydney, Joel, and Gabe).  Contact Jason

John has been on the pastoral staff at Mt. Zion since 2013. As Student Pastor, he is seeking to come alongside parents as they strive to disciple their children, focusing specifically on middle and high school students. He received his Mdiv. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. John and his wife, Haley have two sons (Landon & Baylor).   Contact John

Chris joined our pastoral staff in 2017 to lead our Ministry to Families and Children (Birth-5th Grade).  He received a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences from Valdosta State University and is currently attending seminary at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He and his wife, Aleesha, have two children (Brynlee and Haddon). Pastor Andres has lead our Spanish speaking congregation since 2005.  He and his wife Gia have 3 children (Jose, Maria, and Johana).  Andres has a passion for rightly dividing the Word of God and for encouraging the hispanic community within our county and congregation. Contact Andres.

 Jeannie has been preschool director at  Mt. Zion since 2005 and been a member of the church for over 20 years.    Before becoming director she was assistant teacher in the 4 yr old pre-k class for several years.  Jeannie has a bachelors degree from Valdosta State University.  She is married and has two daughters and a son-in-law.  Contact Jeannie

Shawn joined our staff in 2017.  Shawn is responsible for the financial, personnel, legal/risk management, facilities & computer operations of the church.  Shawn has his Bachelor of Science in Business with a Concentration in Investment Management and a Minor in Accounting from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He also has a  Master of Arts in Discipleship from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  Shawn and his wife, Jennifer, have two boys and one daughter. Contact Shawn

Glenda has been at Mt. Zion since November 2003.   She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications from Piedmont College and is also a Certified Ministry Assistant.  Glenda is married to Corey and they have a niece and two nephews that they adore!  Contact Glenda

Angela is a native of Canton, Georgia. She graduated from Cherokee High School in 1988 and received an Associate of Arts degree from Reinhardt University in 1991.  Upon graduation from Kennesaw State University in 1992, she received a Bachelor of Science in Public and Social Services.  Angela and her husband Travis have been married for 25 years and have a son, Taylor, and a daughter, Hannah, who are both currently in college. She has worked with children for over 25 years as both a social worker and a pre-school teacher, and is excited to get to love on the families and children of Mt. Zion! Contct Angela

Sue has been on staff at Mt. Zion since 2004.  She is responsible for custodial services and general maintenance of church facilities.

Lawson has lived in the Hickory Flat community and attended Mt Zion all his life.  He's been keeping us safe and our building secure since 2010.
